A 62-year-old Chinese national was apprehended while attempting to enter India without a visa or valid documentation in the Sonouli area of the India-Nepal border in Maharajganj.
A police official provided this information on Monday. Station Officer Ajit Pratap Singh reported that Zhang Yong was arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) during a routine check on Sunday evening while he was crossing from Nepal into India.
According to Singh, the individual possessed a passport from China but lacked the necessary visa and documents for entry into India. The passport found with him is valid until November 14, 2034, and he also had a tourist visa for Nepal, which is valid until July 25, 2025.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the Chinese national, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are also looking into whether he is linked to any criminal activities and the manner of his entry into India. Singh mentioned that the Intelligence Bureau has been informed about the case.
